Patrick Culligan, MD, FACOG, FACS, graduated from Georgia Tech in 1989 and from the Mercer University School of Medicine in 1993. In 1997, he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina. He then completed his fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the Evanston Continence Center, Northwestern University Medical School.
After spending five years as a full-time faculty member with The University of Louisville Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Culligan came to The Atlantic Health System in order to start a Division of Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery and a fellowship program.
Amir Shariati, MD, MS graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science in 1994 and completed his medical school training at the Medical College of Georgia in 2000.
He finished his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2004 at Palmetto Health Alliance, University of South Carolina. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Methodist Hospital, Indiana University. He also obtained a Masters in clinical research from Indiana University Purdue University Institute in the spring of 2007. Having lived in Iran as a child, Dr Shariati is fluent in Farsi.
Dr. Shariati has joined Dr. Culligan in the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the Atlantic Health System. He will also be participating in the training of fellows in the Urogynecology Fellowship Program.
Charbel Salamon, MD, FACOG, graduated from Saint Joseph’s University, the French Faculty of Medicine in 1998.
Immediately after earning his MD, Dr. Salamon went through 3 years of a general surgery residency program in Paris – before realizing that he wanted to move to the United States. In 2005, he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He then completed his fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Atlantic Health System, Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
During his fellowship training, he also obtained a Masters in clinical research from Drexel University Medical School. Having lived and studied in France, Dr Salamon is fluent in French.
Emil L Gurshumov, MD graduated from Dagestan State Medical Academy (Russia) in 1998, where he received combined BS/MD degree.
He completed first two years of Ob/Gyn residency at the Nassau University Medical Center and completed his third and fourth years at New York Downtown Hospital.
During his fourth year of residency, Dr. Gurshumov was named Chief Resident. In 2010, he started fellowship training in Urogynecolgy and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery the Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Atlantic Health Program.
Christa Lewis, DO graduated with a BA from Lynchburg College 2002 and Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006.
She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2010 from The Uniformed Services Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center/National Naval Medical Center.
In 2010, she started fellowship training in Urogynecolgy and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery the Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Atlantic Health Program.
